He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvan and Evelyn Ownbey; and a brother, David Ownbey. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Vickie Ownbey of Dalton; son, Donnie Ownbey; daughter and son in law, Latonya and Clarence Powell of Varnell; brother, Danny Ownbey of Chatsworth; sisters and brother in law, Kathy Cameron of Chatsworth, Mary and Huey Joiner of Dalton, Jody Matthews of Dalton; Grandchildren, Derrick Grissom, Ryan Powell, Elise Willenborg; and several nieces and nephews.
