Alfred “Al” DiGregory, 101, of Churubusco, passed away on December 20, 2018, at his home in Churubusco.

He was born March 26, 1917, in Cook County, IL, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Cimaglia) DiGregory.

He lived in Fort Wayne all of his life and graduated from South Side High School.

Al was a four year army veteran of World War II.

In 1950 Al married Evelyn Maxine Gaff in Fort Wayne, where they lived until 1962. They then moved to the Churubusco area. Maxine preceded him in death on May 13, 2015 after 65 years of marriage

He was a member of St. John Bosco Church, the V.F.W., and the Quarter Century Club. Al and Evelyn were awarded The Heart of Gold Award of Whitley County in 1997.

He retired from General Electric in 1982, after 42 years of service.

Al is survived by many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn DiGregory; his parents; two brothers, Victor and August DiGregory; three sisters, Lena Penzone, Helen Colella and Sue Radu; a God-child, Leslie Green.
