Alexander “Sonny” Luciani, 90, of Burma Road, Woodbridge, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2012 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Adair Parent Luciani. He played his last game in 1954 at the age of 32. At 38, he took up skiing and met his wife, Adair at the New Haven Ski Club. He got his first pair of ice skates at the age of 5 and never lost his zest for the ice. When he owned Luciani Sports, he sponsored an adult hockey team in East Haven. He frequently played with the team and continued to play until the age of 71. In the 1940’s, he began to sing with Pat Dorn’s Orchestra, and, later with Angie Marosco. He had a radio show of WBIB-FM in New Haven and appeared in California with Steve Allen. In later years, he volunteered, singing at nursing homes from Milford to Branford with his sister, “Dolly”.
