Alexander R. “Alex” Kerezsi, 82, formerly of Edison, NJ, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. He was the husband of the late Jean (Kurrey) Kerezsi, who died in 2009.
Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Kiraly) Kerezsi. After graduating from New Brunswick High School in 1953, he joined the US Navy, serving on the aircraft carrier Wasp during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he worked on the production line for Nixon Nitrate, and later as a custodian for the Edison public school system.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching old movies, and going to the casino. Alex was a member of the Edison Lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose since 1973, and was also a member of the Black Diamond Fleet Reserve Association, Branch #115 of the Lehigh Valley. He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors: daughter Sally Kereszi of Catasauqua, with whom he resided; cousin James Kerezsi of Summerton, SC; friends John Repasch, Rita Keeler, and his loyal dog Joey. Alex was predeceased by his wife Jean, and recently by his sister, Arlene Lachanauer.
