Alexander Prescott Mitchell was born on December 14, 1942 to Mr. and Mrs. David and Mary Mitchell. Alexander departed this earthly life on April 15, 2016 at Woodmere Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in New York.
Alexander was preceded in death by two brothers; William Elmer Mitchell and David Mitchell II.
Alexander graduated from JH Haywood High School. He had a love for people and passion to be a barber, so he attended Barber Scotia Barber School. He worked as a barber for many years until his health would no longer allow him to.
Most importantly, Alexander joined and attended Crossover Baptist Church in Brooklyn, NY. He served as an usher and was later elevated to a Deacon in the church.
Alexander leaves to cherish his memories: his children: Jeffrey Mitchell (Nicole) of Elizabethtown, NC; Vernicee Owens (Eric) of Charlotte, NC; David Mitchell (Michelle) of Raleigh, NC; and Rodney Mitchell of Lumberton, NC. Eight grandsons: Deon Mitchell, Montise Mitchell, Deautise Mitchell, Amir Mitchell, Jeffrey Miller, Travis Thompson, Joshua Mitchell, and Justin Mitchell. Five granddaughters: Shanika Mitchell, Belinda Miller, Tina Miller, Alexus Mitchell, and Tierra Redding. He also leaves to cherish eight great-grandchildren and two special friends: Jesse Stephens and Shirley McCall, both of New York. He also leaves to cherish his memories with a host of other relatives and friends.
