Alexander Dashiell Jackson, 23, of Indianapolis, IN, and formerly of Jacksonville, IL, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, in Mooresville, IN.

He was born Jan. 13, 1996, in Jacksonville, IL, the son of LaLonna Jackson and David Good.

He is survived by his mother, LaLonna Jackson (Troy Cook) of Jacksonville, IL; his father, David Good (Shynele Powers) of Springfield, IL; four siblings, Jaylon Jackson of Jacksonville, and DeAngelo Good, Nautica Good and John Good, all of Springfield; maternal grandmother, Patricia Jackson of Jacksonville; paternal grandparents, John and Mabel Good of Indianapolis, IN; maternal uncle, James Harris of Jacksonville; and paternal aunt, Heather Good of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas “T.J.” Wise and Lonnie Jackson; and maternal aunts, Cynthia Brown (surviving husband Dwaine E. Brown) and Geneva Harris (surviving husband James Harris).

Alex was born and raised in Jacksonville, living with his mom and younger brother. He was a 2014 graduate of Jacksonville High School, and then attended Western Illinois University. He was currently pursuing an Environmental Science degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. He had been working at XPO Logistics in Indiana. He was a member of the Jacksonville NAACP.

In the words of a friend, “Alex was proud of himself, who he was and where he was going in life. He was considerate of others, respectful, and stood up for what he believed in. He enjoyed life and made the most out of it”. Alex loved being outdoors, and hanging out with his family and many friends. He was very outgoing, free-spirited, loving, bubbly, and a friend to everyone. A Facebook post he wrote said: “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. Alex touched many hearts, and will surely not be forgotten.
