Alexander (Bud) Debrody, age 74, of Suwanee, GA passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 20, 2021 after battling heart and kidney disease.
He is survived by his loving companion Brenda Thompson (15 yrs), Suwanee, GA; children, Marc (Corey) Debrody, Alpharetta, GA, Lisa (Kevin) Gavin, St. Johns, FL, and six grandchildren (Austin, Grace, Kendall, Anna, Owen, and Caroline).
Bud is proceeded in death by Marc and Lisa’s mother, Bonnie Evans Debrody, his wife of 30 years.
Bud was born March 14, 1946, in Hanover, Germany, and spent his youth in New Hamburg, Ontario Canada where he developed a lifelong passion for ice hockey.
As a member of ’65 Niagara Falls Flyers Memorial Cup and ‘68 Hershey Bears Calder Cup-winning teams, Bud enjoyed a nine-year professional hockey career. While his proudest professional moment may have been scoring against the Russian National Team goaltender (Vladamir Tretiak) he was most happy in recent years celebrating the successes of his grandchildren, attending grandkids’ activities, and attending Atlanta Black-Tie events with Brenda.
