Alec Robin Martineau is his legal name but the name tag on his hospital bassinet after he was born read “My name is “Alec” but call me “Robin”.

Robin was a story teller who could spin large, extravagant tales. He liked to be the center of attention which prompted more jokes that made everyone laugh. This humorous trait was so like his dad that it got him the name “Sir Rob” from dad’s friends.

He enjoyed building forts as a child. He then learned from his dad how to build and repair real things. He became a handyman and after he finished high school, he began doing small jobs for neighbors.

Robin joined the United State Marines Corp as his dad had done and became a Corporal. Like his dad, he was also a marksman. He served at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina, Camp Pendleton near San Diego and as far away as the Philippines and Okinawa, Japan. It was during his time in Camp Pendleton that he met Myra. They had a child, me (Alec) and became a family with Metri and Dexter. Together, we moved to Texas for several years where he learned how to be a counselor and worked his way to becoming a Director at Daytop. Eventually, we moved to NJ, to Port Jervis, and ultimately to West Virginia.

Finally, one of his favorite fruits was watermelon.

When a loved one becomes a memory, a memory becomes a treasure. Treasure the memories. The phrase “We will miss him” is insufficient to express how we feel about him but we know that he is in a better place now. And for that we are grateful.
