Aldon Carson was born on October 11, 1929 in Catawba, NC and left this earth to be with the Lord on May 20, 2021. Aldon resided at his home in Raleigh NC for 40 years until the last month of his life. Because of his deteriorating health, he could no longer be cared for at home.
He was a graduate of NC A&T State University and served as Captain in the Army for 8 years. Aldon was an agriculture teacher in Catawba, NC until he moved to Raleigh, NC. He retired as the Head of NC Public Instruction after 40 years of service.
He was Deacon of First Baptist Church for 13 years in Raleigh, NC, taught Sunday School there for many years and was the Director of the Senior Ministry.
Aldon was a loving husband to his wife, Zettia Carson, a wonderful father to his children, Alfred Carson, Ronald Carson, and Judy Carson. A wonderful stepfather to Cynthia Howard, Michael Jackson and Beverly Jackson. A doting and loving grandfather, step-grandfather, and step-great-grandfather.
He departed his life peacefully in his sleep at The Veterans State Nursing Home of Fayetteville, NC.
Aldon leaves behind family, friends, and a host of people who loved him and whom he loved dearly. We will miss you Al.
