Alden E. Boughton Alden E. Boughton 85, of Danbury passed away peacefully at his home on August 21, 2013. He was the son of the late Dorothy (McLaughlin) Boughton Hibbert and Ernest Boughton. Alden was born in Danbury on June 13, 1928. He worked in several different jobs throughout his life, starting with the Harry McLachlan Hat Factory, Castro Convertibles for over 25 years, and finally retiring from the Danbury Public Library in 1993. Al had a zest for life. When he was 16 he traveled across country with a friend. On September 14th, 1945, he completed his first solo flight at Danbury Airport, in the 1950’s he raced boats with the Southern New York Racing Association, rode motorcycles for most of his life, and in no particular order, he rode in a Glider, Hot-Air Balloon, and Nuclear Powered Submarine, USS Will Rogers (SSBN 659) under-water from Groton, CT to Norfolk, VA with his son Michael. He will be remember as a kind, generous, eternal optimist who loved his family above all else. Al is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred (Mosher) Boughton; a half-sister Barbra Herbst and husband Gary, his children Brenda Miller and her husband Jim of Newtown, Sandra Cruz and her husband Phil of Newtown, Michael and his wife Margaret of Virginia, grandchildren, Amanda Rosa and her husband Michael of Virginia, Katie, and Matthew Miller, Steven and Brian Boughton, and Great Grandchildren, Lilly and William Rosa. He was pre-deceased by his grandson Andrew Cruz in 2008. Alden also leaves his good friends and Friday night card buddies George Chauvin, Donny Debonis, Alan Fairchild and Phil Chiarella. The family would like to thank Hospice and above all his loving care takers Braulia and Wilson Guzman and Family.
