Alcina Doret was born June 11, 1925 in Haiti, particularly in a small town in the south named “Chalon” in the province of Miragoane. She was the daughter of the late couple Iralia Pierre and Antoine Doret. Alcina had six wonderful children. During her life, she had the worse experience a mother could have by suffering the loss of the three oldest: Frederick, Roblin and Yolande Mary.

Even though she was broken hearted she had no choice but to continue on the road that was chosen for her: safeguard her health and live her life as best she could. And as a testimony she until the ripe age of 89. In Haiti, as a merchant she was constantly traveling, buying and reselling. She knew how to maneuver things to make ends meet. She was energetic and very vibrant and she lived life the way she wanted, and no one was going to convince her otherwise.

She is now survived by three of her progeny: Willy Mary, Myrtha Mary and Wilbert Mary. She also survived by many nieces and nephews, who she considered as her own. She is also blessed with many grandsons, granddaughters, and many great-grandchildren. She arrived in the United States in the year 1975. She became an avid babysitter, a duty she took wholeheartedly and treated all those young souls with love as if they were her own. She was a friend, a mother to all crossing her path, a moderator, an enforcer, a helper, and above all a giver. Her life give us an example of uttermost charity and love.

During her residency in Willingboro she became a beloved member of the Haitian Baptist Church which is where we are today celebrating her life, waving her goodbye for the last time. She was devoted in the faith and believed that in death God is glorified for she obediently came down to earth and did the will of the Lord.
