Mrs. Albertha Mae Baker Miller was born on St. Simons Island, Georgia, on August 1, 1929 to the late Richard A. Baker, Sr., and the late Lillie Geneva Parker Baker..
She was the oldest of six children, the other five Leona, Annie Mae, Richard Jr., James, and Willie all proceeding her in death.
She matriculated through the Glynn County School system, graduating from the Old Risley High School in 1947.
She was married to the late George D. Miller, Sr. on December 31, 1954.
Her initial work experience began with Southern Bell, (now AT&T), but she was most proudly and affectionately known as a Nurse Assistant and receptionist for Dr. David J. Griffin, the first practicing physician of color in Glynn County, Georgia.
In retirement, she worked with the Glynn County Jury Commission.
On Tuesday night at 10:45 PM, on March 16, 2021, Albertha Mae Baker Miller entered the gates of heaven, and her eternal rest.
Her memories will be cherished her loving and devoted children: Rev. George D. Miller, Jr., and Shirley Miller (Alex) Williams; her grandson, Blair Alexander (Trinity) Williams; sister-in-law: Carolyn Baker (Lewis) Stevenson; nieces and nephews; her very special friend, Mrs. Annie P. Wilcox; and a very faithful and caring next-door neighbor for many years, Mr. Abraham Anderson.
