Alberta Rachel (Cook) Taggart, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away on, May 17, 2014 at St. Luke’s Meridian Hospital.
Alberta was born June 27, 1919 in Burley, Idaho to Everett N. and Estella E. Cook. At the age of six months, they moved to Colorado where Alberta completed school through the fifth grade before returning to Burley. In 1938, Alberta graduated from Burley High, while living with her grandmother Cook after the death of her parents in 1934.
Alberta married Truman Taggart in 1942, and had three children, Ronald E. Taggart, Jerry R. Taggart, Sr. and Julie K. Bunderson. She was a homemaker and worked for Amalgamated Sugar Co. and for Birdseye Frozen Foods. She became a national ceramics teacher and taught 4H for twelve years. She loved to fish and help friends in need.
Alberta is survived by her two sons; Ronald E. Taggart of Caldwell and Jerry R. Taggart, Sr. of Nampa, her daughter, Julie K. Bunderson of Boise and her Texas daughter Catherine (Mark) Stanley of Nampa, three grandchildren; J.R. (Erica) Taggart of Meridian, Ronnie Kay (Dan) Burtlow of Centerville and Rachel M. (Jed) Robinson of Boise, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Alberta is preceded by her parents Everett and Estella Cook, her husband, Truman Taggart and her grandson Richard Scott Smart.
