Alberta Mae Burley, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died September 22, 2016 at Heritage Specialty Care following an extended illness.
Alberta was born February 14, 1924 in Lucas County to Albert and Nellie Peterson. She graduated from Chariton High School in 1942. On February 27,1946, she was united in marriage to Floyd W. Burley, Jr. and three daughters were born of the marriage, Sandra Bloomquist, Maggie (Bob) Shewry of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Karen(Mike) Nelson of Oneida, WI.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Five grandchildren John, Tracey, Brian, Angela and Andra and six great grandchildren Emi, Alex, Connor, Abby, Adam and Aiden. Alberta is also survived by her brother, Donald Peterson of Mt. Horeb, WI. Alberta was preceded in death by husband and daughter Sandra.
