Alberta “Bertie” Mary Halas (Anderson) of Upper Arlington passed peacefully into her next life on July 3, 2014 at home. She was born February 9, 1926 of parents James and Marie Anderson who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were sister Elaine and brother James. Survived by and missing her are her best friend and husband of 62 years, Henry Robert Halas; children Henry Robert Halas, Jr. of Dublin, Marie Mowery (Terry) of Dublin, Suzanne Steel (Ken Kulka) of Upper Arlington, and James Halas (Carol) of San Clemente, CA; eight grandchildren, including Jennifer and Rob Halas, Audrey and Brett Mowery, Emily Steel, and Olivia, Claire and Ian Halas; brother Harold Anderson; many beloved nieces, nephews and friends. Alberta graduated from South High School and attended St. Leo’s as a child. She attended Ohio State University where she met the love of her life, Henry “Hank” Robert Halas, who she married on Dec. 10, 1952. God and family were her center and she adored her grandchildren.
