Albert Rumfelt, 82formerly of Fairmount, IN died Saturday July 7, 2012 at Marion General Hospital , Marion, Indiana
Mr. Rumfelt was a US Army Veteran and retired after 40 years from Anaconda Wire Company in 1994 were he was a forklift driver.He had formerly worked at Foster-Forbes Glass Company, Marion, Lindley Block Company, Fairmount Street Department and served as a Fairmount Deputy Marshall.He formerly attended the Fairmount Pilgrim Holiness Church.
He enjoyed farming, mowing, spending time with his grandchildren, camping, and watching John Wayne westerns.
He was born June 14, 1930 at Burke County, North Carolina he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Martha M (Biggerstaff) Rumfelt.He married the late Barbara Jean Pierce June 6, 1953,she preceded him in death March 18, 1991.
He is survived by a daughter; Tonya A. Standeford, Fairmount,2 sons; Paul (Terry) Rumfelt of Jonesboro, and Delon (Roberta) Rumfelt, Marion.2 Brothers; Ned (Doris) Rumfelt, Morganton, N. C.and Homer (Janice) Rumfelt, Marion, North Carolina.3 Grandchildren; Samantha Haney, Chris (Christy)Rumfelt, both of Fairmount, and Heidi Rumfelt, Gas City.5 Step-grandchildren: John (Ann) Jacobs, Charity (Tony) Marshall, both of Marion, Chris (Ashley) Standeford, Bluffton, IN , J. W. Standeford, and Kara (Phil) Curry, both of Huntington, IN.
