Albert Richard Olsen, 88, of 1709 10th St., Peru, died at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 in Illinois Valley Community Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born January 31, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois to Bernard and Dorothy (Anderson) Olsen. He married Phyllis Schafer on July 1, 1941 in Chicago by Rev. Donaldson. He was a long time member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Peru, and belonged to the Lutheran Brotherhood. During World War II he worked at the Seneca Shipyards.
He was a bus driver for the City of Peru, and was later employed by Sundstrand, until retiring in 1980.
Survivors are: his wife, Phyllis of Peru; 1 daughter, Sandra (Don) Love of Larwill, Indiana; 2 sons, Ronald (Connie) Olsen of Peru, and Ray (Jill) Olsen of Ladd; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Ron) Colby of Spring Valley, and Evelyn (Donald) Albright of Wasola, Missouri. He was preceded in death by: his parents; 4 brothers; and 3 sisters.
