Albert C. Malekovic, 89, of Centralia, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Albert was born March 25, 1932 in Brookfield, Illinois, the son of Martin Malekovic and Anna (Pergl) Malekovic. He married Eileen Beard on February 9, 1953 and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Eileen Malekovic of Centralia, he is also survived by his three children and their families: a daughter: Lori Edson and husband Terry of Centralia, granddaughter: Ali Dahlquist and husband Jeff, great-grandchildren: Faith, Naomi, Austin, Levi, Jake, and Misha, a grandson: Nate Edson and wife Angie, great-grandchildren: Natalie, Rylee, Kalei, and Marley, a granddaughter: Leyna George and husband Joseph, great-grandchildren: Josiah, Matthias, Silas, Elias, and Aliyah, a grandson: Caleb Edson and wife Kelsey, great-grandchildren: Jayda, Justus, Jai, and Saydee, a son: Reed Malekovic and wife Theresa of Centralia, a granddaughter: Sarah Ashford and husband Jason, great-grandchildren: Titus, Reed, Eilee, and Mia, a granddaughter: Annie Castleman and husband Ryan, great-grandchildren: Kaid, Hattie, Tillie, and Jhovany, a grandson: Albert A. Malekovic and wife Grace, great-grandchildren: Hunter, Jett, and Tripp, a daughter: Lisa Simpson and husband Dan of Florida, a granddaughter: Olivia White and husband Shane, great-granddaughter: Lira, grandson: Alex Simpson, a grandson: Elijah Simpson and wife Lauren, a great-granddaughter: Lily; several nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Anna Malekovic, a brother: George Malekovic, and three sisters: Helen Thomas, Violet VonHolt, and Blanche Plunkett.
Albert served in the U.S. Army for two years. He worked as a Banker for 30 years and was also the Vice President of Sales for Country Bob’s for 30 plus years. He was a member of the Greenview Christian Church in Centralia. Albert loved to be with his family and his church family. He was a very generous and giving person. He enjoyed traveling and listening to Gospel music. Albert cherished the time he spent with his wife, family and friends.
