Albert “Al” Lee Loflin, 80, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Born October 3, 1930 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late MaLindie Easter Loflin and George F. Loflin.

A veteran of the United States Marines, he served in the Korean Conflict. Employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad, he retired in 1987 as general foreman.

Mr. Loflin was a member of First Baptist Church of Salisbury.

Preceding him in death were his brothers, Paul, Ray and George Loflin; and sisters Sadie Holbrooke and Catherine Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Coreta Randall Loflin, whom he married January 19, 1951; daughter Randall L. Miller (Larry) of Cary; brother J.D. Loflin of Washington; sister Betty Craver of Salisbury; grandchildren, Alex and Amanda Stephenson of Franklinton; Cole Stephenson (Michele) of Raleigh, Monica Moore (Justin) of Virginia; and great-grandchild, Hailey Stephenson of Raleigh.
