Albert L. Rhoades, 68, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at his home in Atlantic.
Albert Lee Rhoades was born December 28, 1939, in Corning, Missouri, the son of Albert Andrew and Susie Dee (Bettinger) Rhoades.
He was raised in Corning, Missouri, graduating from Corning High School. He completed Electronics training in Kansas City, Missouri. Before making his home in Atlantic, he had resided in Dallas, TX, Tarkio and St. Joseph, Missouri,
Albert had been employed in various jobs throughout his life. He was a handyman, which included plumbing and electrical work. While in St. Joseph, he also served as a bus driver transporting elderly people.
Albert was a member of the Atlantic Eagles Lodge, Aerie 3763, and took great pride in being a Trustee there.
On January 29, 2008, Albert married Cynthia Andrews in Atlantic, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Andrews of Atlantic, Iowa; Cynthia’s children, Albert Lee Smith, Arliss Capri Norton and her husband, Brian, and James Dee Smith; Cynthia’s grandchildren, Danyel, Travis and Jacob Griffin; his daughter, Tammy Lynn Rhoades; his sisters, Leola M. Bartlett, Bertha J. Fudge, Martha C. Dixon, and Elfa V. Rhoades; his brothers, David L. (Dana Boyd) Rhoades, and Frances M. (Michael Crider) Rhoades.
Also surviving are Mary Rhoades, her six children and 15 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and numerous other family and friends, including his friends at the Eagles Lodge in Atlantic, Iowa.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Susie; his sisters, Creata F. Walker, Ruth V. Rhoades, and Betty M. Rhoades; his brothers, Jasper D. Rhoades and Edward L. Rhoades.
