Albert L. Mantilia, Jr 93 of Orange, passed away on January 18, 2012 at home peacefully after a long and happy life. He was raised in West Haven and graduated from West Haven H. S. and was an Orange resident for 53 years. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 293rd Ordnance Company, in the European Theater of Operations. After the war, he rejoined the family business founded by his father. He served as president of Mantilia Motors until his retirement in 1981. He was active in numerous civic organizations and professional associations including the Connecticut Automotive Trades Association (president) and the Ford Dealers Advertising Association (president). More locally he was a member of the Orange Lions Club, the West Haven Elks Club and was an associate member of the Orange Volunteer Fire Dept.

He was born, June 6th, 1918, the son of the late Albert and Luisa Buonocore Mantilia.

He was the beloved husband of Mary DiLella Mantilia and the father of Albert (Barbara), Robert (Susan) and Peter (Rebecca). He was cherished by his grandchildren Dana Fordyce (Stephen), David (Dalma), Megan, Christine Giordano (Michael), Andrew and Alyssa along with his five great grandchildren, Kayla, Kylie, Jillian Fordyce and George and David Mantilia.

He is also survived by a sister Laura Damuck, and predeceased by his siblings, Arnold Mantilia and Emily Mantilia.
