Albert L. Kraus Albert L. Kraus, 91, of Danbury, CT passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Margaret (Corcoran) Kraus. Al was born March 4, 1923 in the Bronx, New York, to the late Albert and Sally (Deneen) Kraus. He was a proud U.S. Navy WW II veteran, serving aboard a minesweeper in the Mediterranean and North African theaters. He participated in the invasion of Sicily, (Salerno) Italy and Southern France including operations at the Anzio beachhead.c After the war, Al graduated from Niagara University in New York and worked for many years at Olin Corporation in New York City and later in Stamford, CT before retiring in 1983. He lived and raised his family in the 1950’s and 60’s in Syosset (Long Island), New York and then moved in 1969 to Ridgefield, CT where he spent many happy years before moving in 1995 to Danbury, CT.
