Lt. Col. Albert John “AJ” Carletti (retired), 95, born in Pittsfield, MA on January 20, 1921, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on November 2, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his son, David Carletti; daughter, Diane (Carletti) Anderson; grandson, Jason Anderson and partner, Christopher Heise; granddaughter, Michelle Carletti; grandson, Michael Carletti; grandson, Joshua Anderson and fiancée, Christine Kiser; brother, Alfred Carletti; and other family and friends. Albert was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Grace (Lindeken) Carletti; his parents, Gioacchino and Olimpia Carletti; and brother, Leno Carletti. Lt. Col. Carletti retired from the US Air Force after 26 years of honorable service, Sandia (now Kirtland) Base was his final assignment. He also retired from General Electric as a Manufacturing Production Analyst in aircraft engine manufacturing having worked in both Pittsfield and Albuquerque factories. In his “younger” years and before Grace’s passing, AJ enjoyed golf, bowled on a league and played in a senior men’s softball league. Together, they enjoyed travel, entertaining, playing bridge and time with their children and grandchildren.
