Albert “Peter” Gavin, 88, of Metamora passed away at 1:08am Friday Dec. 21, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on April 7, 1924 in Lake Geneva, WI the son of Paul and Blanche Robinson Gavin. He married Leona Brandt in Evanston, IL on July 20, 1946. She passed away on March 6, 2010 in Metamora.
Surviving are his children Michael (Gloria) Gavin of Argentona Spain, Nancy (Dan) Rybaski of Lyndon Station WI, Joan (Dave) Brown of Paris IL, Marcia (Jim) Kaplan of Lisle IL, Dan (Lisa) Gavin of Brimfield, IL, two son-in-laws Dan Faust of Shelton, WA. and Waldo Goff of Crawford, NE, 20 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, as well as one sister Sister Florence Gavin of Sinsinawa, WI, also survive Peter. His parents, two daughters, Carol Goff and Mary Faust, three brothers, Tom, Bob, and Paul as well as one sister Helena preceded him in death.
He was a very loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, known for his peaceful patience and friendly smile. He loved gardening, boating, woodworking, walking, playing bridge and online scrabble with his children.
