Albert “Frank” Newman, 59 of Westminster died Saturday April 16, 2011 at Carroll Hospital Center after an extended illness. Born February 7, 1952 in Neptune, New Jersey, he was the son of David Albert Newman of Westminster and Edith Glen DeLawder Newman of Berkley Springs,WVA.
He went to Atholton High School and Glenelg High School in Howard County. As a child, he enjoyed 4-H and raising dairy goats, hunting and the outdoors. As an adult, he was finely skilled in auto-mechanics, with the restoration of his father’s 1951 GMC Pickup. For many years, he was a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast, restoring and riding his “Knucklehead” and “Panhead” motorcycles.
Frank had worked most of his life as a millwright in several paper mills in Maryland, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
He was previously married to the late Audrey Cavanaugh of Baltimore and Maria Siqueira of Brazil.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by children Annie Newman and Frank David Newman both of Glen Burnie, sisters and brothers-in-law Ivy and Glen Smink and Carolyn and Joseph Murphy, brother and sister-in-law David and Katja Newman, and a half sister Tammy and husband Scott Winn all of Westminster.
