Albert Eugene Cain I, age 81, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on August 31, 2018. Albert was born on April 24, 1937 in Bloomington to Stanley and Josephine (Bower) Cain.
Albert was in the U.S. Navy for almost 28 years. Albert worked at Sarkes Tarzian in the development of the semi-conductor and television tuner, before starting Al’s Two-Way Radio Service in Bloomington in 1955. He was a radio electronic engineer and worked there until his passing. He was also a pilot and photographer. Albert did everything he could to help out in his community, like sponsoring little league teams since the mid 70’s, helping all of the emergency services in Bloomington, even making cookies for his community, and many other things. Albert enjoyed working, mowing his yard on his Dixie Chopper, and he always loved to have a good laugh.
Albert was a member and past President of the Stone Belt Shrine Club, a five time Past Master of the Monroe Masonic Lodge #22, member of York Rite, Bloomington Indiana Job’s Daughters Bethel #22, Hillbillies, American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18, and a lifelong member of the NRA.
Albert is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgia (Sparks) Cain, son, Albert “Sonny” Cain II (Tracey), daughter, Juli Stuth (David), grandchildren, Christy Martinez (Doflo), Aliss Anderson (Justin), Amanda Gregg (Eric), Victoria “Buggy” Wood (Jonathan), Austin Cain, Kaylynn Cain, and Makayla Jewell, several great-grandchildren, brother, Ronald Cain, and several nieces and nephews.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, David Cain, and uncle, Everett “Pop” Cain.
