Albert Bronson Coe passed away peacefully with loving family members by his side on Thursday, March 24th, 2011
Al was Born May 4, 1928 – in Waterbury,CT
The son of Charles Anson and Martha Alberta (Bronson) Coe of Southbury, CT.
Served in the U S Navy at the end of World War II – Stationed in Alemeida Airfield, CA and returned to Woodbury to marry his high school sweetheart Janet (Anderson) Coe (deceased) in 1949.
They enjoyed fifty years of marriage raising seven children in Woodbury: Becky Meister-Jimmo, Albert B. Coe, Jr (deceased), Walter C. Coe, Millie Lukens, James Wheeler Coe (deceased), Suzanne Beckley and Maggie Paquette.
He also leaves behind twenty one grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren that he LOVED dearly.
Al worked at Nick’s Garage at the North end of Woodbury with his father-in-law, Nick Anderson. He worked at Andaconda-American Brass, and retired from St. Pierre Oil Co. in the mid 1980’s.
Al enjoyed so much in his life…music has to come first – he shared his music everywhere that he went. He would never miss watching a UCONN Husky Girls basketball game – and was also a great supporter of the Nonnewaug basketball team.
In his earlier years he coached and umpired for the Woodbury Little League – while Abe and Wally participated, and after.
