Albert Barney Jordan met his Savior face to face early morning, Wednesday, November 27, 2019.  He was surrounded by his wife, son and two daughters when he began his heavenly journey.

Al was born and grew up in Corsicana, Texas. He graduated Corsicana High School, Navarro Junior College, East Baptist University with a bachelors in music education, and Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary with a masters in religious education.

Al begin his Christian ministry in 1956.  He served as minister of music at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Shreveport, Louisiana, Eastern Hills Baptist Church, Garland, Texas, East Sherman Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas, First Baptist Church, Littlefield, Texas, First Baptist Church, Vernon, Texas, and First Baptist Church Paris, Texas. He served as assistant chaplain at Cal Farley Boys Ranch Amarillo, Texas and served as pastor of Joy Baptist Church, Joy, Texas and Keys Valley Baptist Church, Belton, Texas. After retiring as pastor, he served as a missionary with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board in Mbabane, Swaziland and Johannesburg, South Africa.  He also served as minister of the Alpine Resort Ministry in Creede, Colorado.

Al’s entire life was devoted to sharing Christ and the Gospel with anyone he encountered. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Belton where he served as an Elder and member of the Sanctuary Choir. He served as a chaplain with Texas Baptist Men’s Disaster Relief.

He loved the outdoors and was extremely active. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and anything outdoors with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid cyclist; in fact, he commemorated his 75th birthday by cycling 75 miles in and around Bell County, Texas.

When asked how he wanted to be remembered, he said “that he loved Jesus.”

He is survived by his wife, Belinda (Boughton) Jordan, his daughter, Lorna (Jordan) Sibley, husband Dr. Mark Sibley and their children Aaron Sibley, Rachel (Sibley) Winkle and husband Corbin Winkle,  his son Byron Jordan, wife Laura (McIntire) Jordan and their son Derek Jordan, his daughter Joanna (Jordan) Thomasson, husband Chris Thomasson and their children Meghan (Thomasson) Barreras, husband, Andi Barreras and Jordan Thomasson, brother Wesley Jordan and wife Peggy Jordan, sister-in-law Wretha Jordan, sister-in-law Dianna Boughton and multiple nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by mother and father Edgar and Bertha Jordan, brothers Roy Jordan, Bill Jordan and by sisters Luella (Jordan) Howard and Betty (Jordan) Odom.
