Alan Reid “Pops” Jennings, age 60, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at his home in Newnan. He was born on July 29, 1959 in Newnan, GA to the late Bobby Reid Jennings and Harriett “Grancie” Graham Jennings.
Reid, as he was known by friends and family, enjoyed cooking, gardening and loved making people pretty. Some might say when he cut hair, he really made himself feel good by making others look good. He was affectionally known as “Pops” and found no greater joy in this life than spending time with his grandchildren. If he wasn’t in the kitchen cooking, he was working in his yard. His favorite place to spend time with his loved ones was on St. George Island.
The funeral service celebrating the life Reid lived is Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the chapel of McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson Street, in Newnan at 4:00 PM with Pastor Hal Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McKoon Funeral Home.
Reid is survived by his wife, Karen Brooks Jennings; children, Erin Bass (Chris), Marlie Hopkins (Cory), Graham Jennings (Courtney); his pride and joy grandchildren, Bradley, Ethan, Cadence, Maggie, Griffin, Brooklyn and Emerson. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Fulgham (Mark) and mother in law, Betty “Grandmama” Brooks.
