Alan Jason Mesch, 58, of Peru, passed away peacefully Monday, November 23, 2020, at his home. Mesch was born on May 6, 1962, in Dubuque, IA to Marvin and Janet (Saeugling) Mesch.

He was a graduate of Paxton High School and worked as an inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Mr. Mesch was a member of Mensa and thoroughly enjoyed learning and solving problems and puzzles. He loved playing golf as well as honing his skills in competitive online racing. He loved to laugh and enjoyed the comedy in many forms such as stand-up, The Simpsons, and Seinfeld. He was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. A bucket list item for him was to visit every Major League Baseball stadium; a dream which he started but his family will complete in his honor. He was incredibly selfless and was always ready to help a family member or friend in need. He was absolutely the best father to his son, and he was a father figure to others as well. His presence in his family’s life will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his former wife, Mahala Mesch of Rock Island; his son, Jason (Carly) Mesch of Nashville, TN; his father, Marvin Mesch of Louisville, KY and his brother, Ken Mesch of Paxton.

He was preceded in death by his mother.
