                                                                                   Alan’s Story

Alan Conrad Smith, son of the late Rev. David and Eva May Smith, was born on September 25, 1969 and departed this life May 28, 2021 peacefully at his home in Cary NC.

Alan was raised in Robbins NC for the majority of his life. He was a graduate of North Moore High School in Robbins NC, and was a member of his family church: Collins Chapel Congregational. Alan served in the Navy aboard the USS Saratoga as an Electrician Mate for four years during Desert Storm. Alan completed his Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Marketing, from UNC Charlotte, post-Navy.  He married his high school sweet heart, Kimetha (Kim) Brower.  Alan and Kim settled in Cary NC, where they raised their 3 children. He was a member of the Sensational Jubilaires, a quartet in his home town, and would travel back to Robbins for practice and concerts with the group. He later went back to school and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from North Carolina Central University in Durham NC. Alan loved being a nurse and was passionate about providing the best care to his patients. Alan became a member of Grace Bible Fellowship, Cary NC.

Alan had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep in positive way. He believed in the blessing of paying it forward. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and had a heart that was on fire for God. Alan had a passion for writing that was reflected in many of his own songs, plays, and poems that he wrote and produced. His talent touched and changed the lives and hearts of many. He loved his family and was a proud “pop pop”. Alan enjoyed drawing, cooking, and building things around the house.  If Alan was not at home with family or working, he was engaging in his most favorite activity: Golfing as he was always perfecting his “golf swing.”

Alan touched the lives of many with the conversations he had with people about God’s word and God’s purpose in the lives of many.  Alan had a ‘gift’ of reaching people and a desire to serve God.

Alan was preceded in death by: his father Rev David Smith. Brothers: Johnny, David, and Joe Smith.

He is survived by his wife Kim, three children: Whitney (Christopher) Keith of Raleigh, NC, Octavia Smith and Alan David Smith of the home.  Mother: Eva May Smith.
