Dr. Alan Brian Gancy, Chemist and American Inventor, passed on is our beloved, January 14, 2008, born of the late Mr. & Mrs. Julius J. Gancy, (Esther DeCapua) of West Haven, CT after a short illness. Dr. Gancy was the son of European born immigrants who resided in Connecticut. He attended Trinity College in undergraduate studies, where he received a B.S. in Chemistry, as well as being the president of the Trinity Chemistry Club, and a member of the Tao Alpha Fraternity. He later attended Yale University, where he earned academic honors and a M.S. degree in Physical Chemistry. He continued his education at Yale, until he received his PhD in 1956. He then worked as the Director of Chemistry for Allied Chemical Corporation, until he founded his own corporation, Gancy Chemical Corporation of Baldwinsville, NY. Along with his many academic achievements, he was listed in ‘American Men of Science’ and chosen for publication in “Who’s Who in Science” and later in: “Who’s who of American Inventors”.
