Aladar J. Penke, 92, of Hamilton Communities, New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2005, in Hamilton Communities.
Al was born on October 4, 1913, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Joseph and Susie (Mesvaros) Penke.
On October 27, 1946, he married Esther Yvonne Sparrow, who preceded him in death on October 14, 1994. Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Magdalena Rozanas, Mary Toth and Anna Penke.
Al is survived by his daughter, Donna (Stephen) Lyons of South Easton, Massachusetts; his son, Kirk (Christel) Penke of Three Oaks, Michigan; and by four grandchildren, Mary Kay Lyons of Seattle, Washington, Michael Lyons, and Valerie and Siobhan , all of Massachusetts.
Mr. Penke moved to the area in 1954, coming from Chicago, and worked as a self employed painter/decorator from 1955 to 1976. He was a United States Army Veteran of WWII and a former member of the Blind Club of South Bend from 1954 to 1970.
