Airin L. Kim passed away and went to live with the Lord on Friday April 22, 2022, at the age of 87. Airin was born on August 18th, 1934 in Hamkyung, North Korea. After immigrating to the United States in 1953, she graduated from Chatham University and got her masters at Columbia University Teacher’s College. She worked as a preschool teacher and at Blue Cross and Blue Shield before dedicating her time to caring for her two kids. In her later years, she enjoyed swimming, reading, staying in touch with old friends, and hanging out with newer ones in the Pinehills Great Island community. Airin is survived by her husband of 64 years, Jay W. Kim, as well as her son Edmund Kim of West Warwick RI; daughter Doris Kim, son-in-law Stephen Koelbel, and her granddaughters Danielle and Madeline Koelbel all of Duxbury, MA. She loved being a grandmother and was cared for by her entire family in the last years of her life.
