Lakeland – Agnes Strief Myers, 98, went home to be with the Lord Monday, September 1, 2014, as a result of natural causes.
Mrs. Myers was born May 19, 1916 in Marshall, IA. She and her family moved to Lakeland in 1956. She was a homemaker who loved to piddle in her garden. Her children remember her fondly for the elaborate Sunday lunches she served of roast beef, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy, which made every weekend feel like a holiday. Mrs. Myers was a longtime member of Lakeland Revival Center.
Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husbands, Edward J. Strief and Nick Myers; son, Larry Strief; son-in-law, Larry Davis; daughters-in-law, Ella and Belinda Strief; 2 sisters; 1 brother; 2 grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. She is survived by her sons, Gene Strief and Donald (Gwen) Strief; daughters, Judy Davis and Joan (Bill) Boyne; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren.
