Agnes M. Caruso, 94, of Ottawa, died Friday, July 2, at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center.

Agnes was born November 16, 1915, in rural Morris, to Chris and Minnie (Benson) Monsen. She was a graduate of Marseilles High School and Illinois State University. She was school teacher and then served as Principal of Washington Elementary School in
Marseilles. She married Lucien C. Tony Caruso on June 12, 1939 in Belleview, Iowa. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clara Naomi Circle, Deer Park Country Club, Lakewood Country Club in St. Petersburg, FL, charter member of Pink Ladies Auxiliary (Ottawa Regional Auxiliary), and a Corporate Member of Ottawa Regional Hospital.
She is survived by her sons, Lucien Charles (Kathleen) Caruso, Jr, John Michael Caruso, and a daughter, Mary Sue (Kenneth) Bruck, all of Ottawa, eight grandchildren, Jennifer Cottingham, Nicole Gayan, Angela Rice, Lucien C. Caruso III, James Caruso, Gina Mueller, D.D.S., Molly Farrell, and Steven Bruck, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson, and her caregiver, Raminta Vaitiekute.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 4, 2000, one granddaughter, Julie Kay Caruso, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.
