Agnes T. “Ag” Ridder, 91, of New Berlin, IL died January 8, 2015 at St. John’s Hospice in Springfield, IL.

She was born December 10, 1923 in New Berlin, the daughter of Frank and Sallie Kenney Taylor. She married John P. Ridder in St. Louis, MO and they celebrated 68 years of marriage in 2014.

She is survived by her husband, John; two daughters, Beverly Saylor (husband, Mike) of Virginia and Cheryl Rainey (husband, Bob) of Johnston, IA; four grandchildren, Sean Saylor (wife, Jennifer) of Harvard, Chris Saylor (wife, Julie) of Pontiac, Cara Findlay (husband, Jed) of Ankeny, IA, and Tricia Mattes (husband, Graham) of Apex, NC; six great grandchildren, Ben, Jack, Griffin, Owen, Delaney and Peyton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frank and Barton Taylor; and a sister, Eleanor Kerr.

Ag was a 1942 graduate of New Berlin High School where she was involved in the FFA program. She was a homemaker and drove a school bus for the New Berlin School District for 17 years. In addition, she formerly served as a real estate tax collector for New Berlin Township. She was a life-long member of United Baptist Church in New Berlin and a 35 year volunteer for the Sangamon County Fair. Ag followed in her father’s footsteps by serving as President of the Woodwreath Cemetery Association for many years. She was a member of the New Berlin Woman’s Club, the New Berlin American Legion Post 743 Auxiliary, and was a former member of the New Berlin High School Music Boosters.
