Mrs. Afrodite “Avra” Noonan (Kevghas) of Lowell, MA and Stuart, FL died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 30, 2015 at the age of 84. Avra is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Richard “Dick” Noonan, loving sister, Florence Kyriazos and her husband Paul of North Chelmsford, MA, daughter Dawn Noonan and her fiancée Jack Ravagno of Middleton, MA, daughter Erin Noonan-Descoteaux and her husband Gregory of Londonderry, NH, son Richard Noonan Jr and his wife Michelle of Dracut, MA, son Shawn Noonan and his wife Susan of Newburyport, MA, grandchildren Ryan Noonan and his wife Tarah, Kimberly Noonan, Jade Jasik and her husband Karl, Ian Descoteaux, Patrick Noonan and Summer Noonan, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Angela and Stephan Kevghas of Lowell, MA and brother Costas Kevghas and his wife Carol of Lowell, MA Avra was born on March 8th, 1931 in Lowell, MA to Stephan and Angela Kevghas. She married her soulmate Dick on July 13, 1956, and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. She graduated from Lowell State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She was a beloved teacher at Lowell Public Schools for over 20 years. Avra was a lover of the arts. She was a celebrated artist, showcasing her paintings at galleries in Florida and the Whistler House Museum in Lowell.
