Afe Uoleva Langi was born on September 22, 1920 to goodly parents, Simote and Anakava Langi, while serving a Latter-Day Saint mission in Otea, Vavau. He was the second of eight children.

He devoted and committed his entire life to serving and building the Church of Jesus Christ in the islands of Tonga. He was one of the first to receive his high priest in Tonga and helped to construct many of the church buildings including the Temple, Liahona High school, and many other church buildings. He served as a Sunday school teacher, Seminary teacher and Math teacher at the high school.

Afe found the love of his life, Ana Finau Haunga. They married and had 3 children prior to being called to serve in Laie, Hawaii to help build the Polynesian Cultural Center. Afe and Ana were able to seal their family for all time and eternity in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They had two more children before being transferred to Samoa and then back to Tonga where they continued to build their family. Together the completed their family with a total of 15 children.

Afe was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Ana Finau, his baby daughter Louisa Gallagher Langi, his sons Tevita Latu, Tevita Lavell, Viliami, his grandson David Langi and great granddaughter Vera Langi.

He is survived by Popua(Tevita Latu Langi-deceased) 7 children/9 grandchildren; Lanell(Tevita Lavell Langi- deceased) 3 children/2 grandchildren; Toa(Viliami Langi-deceased) 6 children/3 grandchildren; Tongia (Veronica) 7 children/4 grandchildren; Alipate( Ana Siafoou) 5 children/2 grandchildren; Kuuipo Fakatava (Motuliki) 5 children/1 grandchild; Pasepa Wolfgramm (Harold) 3 children; Edwin(Pam) 1 child; Tatafu (Sara) 3 children; Anakava Manavahe(Ofa) 4 children; Manu Leaivaha Fifta(George) 4 children; Afe Sii (Nicole) 5 children; Hanson 13 children; Sione Ngungutau(Crystal) 7 children.
