Dr. Adrian Anthony Pollock, age 74, of Yardley, PA, died on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home, with his loving wife and two devoted sons by his side. Born in Stafford, England, and raised in Weston-super-Mare, Dr. Pollock lived in London, England, moved to California in 1975, and then settled in Yardley in 1986.
He attended the University of Cambridge at Queens College from 1961-1964, where he achieved his Master’s Degree in Natural Sciences. He continued his education at Imperial College of London for his Ph.D. from 1964-1968. He worked at Mistras Group, Inc. located in Princeton Jct., NJ from 1985 until his death, where he worked as a physicist in mechanical and industrial engineering. He belonged to many groups and committees, including ASNT/ASTM/ASME/AEWG/EWGAE, among other organizations related to his career. He was an icon in non-destructive testing (NDT) and his contributions to Acoustic Emission.
He was a longtime parishioner of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Yardley, where he was instrumental in forming their website.
Son of the late Erskine and Barbara (Bostock) Pollock, he is survived by his wife of 32 years Jane (Coffin) Pollock, two sons Andrew Pollock of Yardley and Cameron Pollock of Baltimore, MD, two sisters Susan Banning of Norfolk, England and Jannice Hale of Lewes, England, one niece, two nephews, four great nieces and many cousins and acquaintances in England.
