Adeline “Lee” M. Gable, 89, of Toms River was welcomed into heaven on Sunday, March 8, 2015. She was born Adeline DeGregorio – though her family called her Lena and her friends called her Lee – on June 16, 1925, in Newark, New Jersey.
She was the youngest of nine born to Antonio and Rosalie DeGregorio (nee Caruso). She was predeceased by her eight siblings, Otto DeGregorio, Joseph Farrell, Inez Shillcock, Tillie Vassallo, Minnie DeGregorio, Rose DeGregorio, and Toni Doud. She married the love of her life, Harry C. Gable, on October 27, 1946. The two remained happily married for 55 years before the Lord called him home. They are now reunited in each other’s loving arms for eternity. Lee was a devoted mother to four children, Richard, Robert, Diane, and Thomas. They will forever carry her spirit in their hearts.
She was a loving Grandma and Gram to ten grandchildren – Kimberly, Suzanne, Dawn, Bobby, Nicole, Richard, Krystle, T.J., Jimmy, and Jennifer – and a doting Great-Grandma and G.G. to eleven great-grandchildren: Zachary, Mackenzie, Robert, Ryan, Alexa, Kealia, Delaney, Taylor, Jenna-Lee, Justin, and Ariana. They will forever remember her kind nature and warm hugs. She was a dear Godmother to Debbie, a caring aunt to her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and a dear friend to many.
She will be fondly remembered as a devout follower of her Catholic faith and as a woman who treasured her family. She also loved bingo night, the color lavender, ‘split bananas’, the rosary, Frank Sinatra, Clark Gable, those damn Yankees, and the Game Show Network. She will be forever in our hearts until we meet again.
