Mrs. Adeline (Fiorentino) LaGess, age 93, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Vita’s Inpatient Hospice Center of Rockledge, Florida.

Born in Herkimer, NY, on August 10, 1928, Adeline was one of eleven children to the late Dominick and Lucia (Girgenti) Fiorentino, and attended Herkimer schools. She married George LaGess on November 24, 1955. Together they shared a loving and devoted relationship for over 67 years. She resided in Herkimer until 1960 when they purchased a home in Frankfort, NY. In her early years, Adeline was employed by Derby Corp. in Herkimer, NY. Adeline was a longtime parishioner of our Lady Queen of Apostles in Frankfort, NY, and St. Mary’s Parish in Rockledge, Florida.

Adeline’s life was centered around her family and friends. She was an amazing cook and loved to entertain but mostly cook for her family. Every Sunday the group would gather at her home for pasta, meatballs and sausage, and maybe a glass of wine. And, if you were lucky, she made her “stringbean patties”. For many years, after moving to Florida, she volunteered to help cook and serve the students at St. Mary’s Catholic school.

Adeline is survived by her loving husband, George, and their 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren: Linda and Ron Vivacqua, and their children; Dina and fiancé Robert Lynn Hanna; Kristie and Robert Downes (and their children, Anthony and Alex); Ron and Sara Vivacqua (and their children, Carter, Jackson and Lilah); Gina and Dominick Bellino and their children; Dominica and Ryan Helmer (and their boys, Grady, Cory, Nicholas and Nolan) and Angel and Michael Bellino (and their boys, Vincenzo and Matteo) and Denise LaGess and wife Suzanne Young. She is also survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Kelly and Kay Fiorentino, as well many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews. She will be missed by all and remembered by many.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the staff at Viera Health and Rehab Center and Vita’s Inpatient Hospice Center for their kindness and compassion during her stay.
