Adelina Ortega, 99, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 23, 2021. Adelina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

She was born in Montoya, NM on July 22, 1922, to Rosalio and Clarita Ortega. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Ortega; daughter, Diana May; and son, James Ortega. Adelina is survived by her daughter, Paulette Sanchez; and sons, Bernardo, Clemente (Lupe), Tom (Bessie), and Rick (Diane). She has 25 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Adelina moved with her family to Albuquerque in 1947. She resided in the north valley for 70 years where she raised her seven children. Their property was known for raising and grazing animals and fresh fruits and vegetables. From her simple beginnings she and her husband traveled the world together and with family. After years of traveling, her favorite past time was going to local casinos. Adelina was a woman of incredible strength and character and had great love for her family. 

The family would like to thank the Compassus caregivers who came into her home to help care for her allowing her to stay in her home.
