Adele Bruner was born in Fort Collins, CO, December 1, 1915 to Florence (Gillette) and DeWitt Malcouronne. She attended schools in Fort Collins, graduating from what is now Colorado State University with a degree in Sociology. In college she was active in many campus activities including the Dramatic Club, Spur, Hesperia, Alpha Chi Alpha, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, the campus newspaper and the year book Silver Spruce. In 1937 she married Jim Bruner. They lived in Cortez, CO, Fort Collins, Loveland and Elbert. In 1955 the family moved to Canon City.
