Adelaide E. “Bette” Meiser (nee Beazley) of Glen Burnie, 88, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2014 at the Mandrin Hospice House with her family by her side. Born in 1926 at Gott Station, now Crownsville, Md. to George Emmett Beazley Sr. and Grace Lee Beazley (nee Hodges).
Bette was a loving wife of 47 years to Harry M. Meiser Sr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Robin H. Metz, son, Harry M. Meiser Jr., grandson, Lawrence C. Metz Jr., and daughter-inlaw Lori Meiser who was her devoted caregiver for the past several years. Surviving nieces and nephews: Virginia Lee Weems, Georgette Lundquist, Patricia Smith, Barbara Garrett, Lynn Archer, Dr. Robert Beazley, Emmett Beazley, George Emmett Beazley III, James Moore, Earl Moore, Dr. E. Taylor Meiser, Chris Meiser, and Kevin Meiser.
She was the youngest of 6 children and preceded in death by brothers, James Willard (Mabel), Robert H. (Kitty), George Emmett Jr. (Helen), Oliver Brooke (Georgette) and sister Margaret Lee (Bonang) Ogle.
She graduated from Annapolis High School in 1943 and was a long time member of Baldwin United Methodist Church. Bette was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout leader, active in community work, PTA and church work and with the Herald Harbor Fire Department Auxiliary. She worked as assistant to the principal at Rolling Knolls Elementary School and Southgate Elementary School before retiring from the State of Md. Dept. of Housing in 1988. Bette loved her family and friends and touched many with her generous heart and thoughtfulness. She always took the time to send cards to friends and family for every occasion and never forgot to send a thank-you note. She will be greatly missed.
