Yanes, Adalberto 88 died on November 11, 2021 in Miami, Florida. Adalberto was born in Cabaiguan, Cuba on April 23rd, 1933, the 11th (and last) child of Nicasio and Casimira Yanes. He grew up poor on a tobacco farm and officially only studied to the 5th grade, but was a life-long reader and learner. As a young man, he moved to the city of Santa Clara, Cuba, where he passed entrance exams to Santa Clara University, graduated and became a successful business man and banker. While working in a bank he met the love of his life, Lourdes Jordan, and married her on May 31, 1961. They had two children, Juan and Adalberto.

In November of 1965, Adalberto escaped from Cuba with his wife to raise their sons in a free country. He continued his life-long love for learning and worked at various companies in the banking sector in Miami for over 30 years. With his sons, he shared his love for baseball, ping-pong, darts, dominos and chess, as well as introducing them to his love of reading, especially the great classics.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lourdes, and his daughter-in-law, Geri Yanes. He is survived by his son Juan A. Yanes and his wife, Karen (Tucson, Arizona); his son Adalberto Yanes and his wife Rebecca (Sugar Land, Texas), and his grandchildren Kaitlyn Groffmann (Ronkonkoma, NY), and Eric Yanes (Tucson, Arizona).
