Ada Mae Hicks passed away on April 18, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born August 2, 1932 in Martinsville, Virginia to Bert and Elsie (Barker) Brewer. Ada graduated high school in High Falls, North Carolina. She married Noah J. Hicks on August 3, 1950 in Chesterfield, South Carolina.
Ada worked at Continental Cleaners in Littleton for many years. She loved to collect decorative plates and dolls including Beanie Babies and even made a trip to Dallas to adopt three Cabbage Patch dolls for her three children. Her artistic side showed in her love of oil painting and ceramics. A competitive soul, Ada loved family game nights including Scrabble and Rook. She was known for her cooking and baking and her love of family, always joking and doing what she could to bring laughter and a smile.
Ada is survived by her husband of 68 years, Noah Hicks; daughters, Geneva “Diane” (Gary) Davis of Castle Pines, CO and Linda Faye (Eric) Aguero of Brighton, CO; son, Jerry Wayne Hicks; sisters, Pauline Garner of Lexington, NC, Lois Jean Purvis of High Falls, NC and Virginia Seawell of Robbins, NC. Also survived by three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Marvin, Pete and Raymond Brewer; and sister, Phyllis Ritter.
