Accursia Zuccaro, 77, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, passed away on January 29, with her husband and daughter by her side, at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center after a long and on-going battle with heart and related health problems. She was born Accursia Cusumano in Brooklyn, New York on August 5th, 1930 and was best known to all who knew her as Gussie. Gussie was well loved by her many friends, neighbors, and loving family.
Gussie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Salvatore “Sal” Zuccaro, her daughter, Cathy and husband, Jim Wookey, of San Diego, California and daughter, Stephanie Zuccaro, and her fiancé, Harlan Griswold, of Vallejo, California. Gussie was also the loving Nana of grandchildren, Michelle and Scott Wookey. She leaves behind her sisters, Lena and husband, Steve Cangelosi, of Deer Park, Long Island, New York and Josie and husband, John Pecoraro, of Orlando, Florida and her late sister, Vickie Pepine, along with all of their children and grandchildren. Gussie was also very close to her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bea and late husband, Joe Zuccaro, of East Meadow, Long Island, New York, Phil Zuccaro of Brooklyn, New York, Chris Zuccaro and his wife, Carol, of Greenville, Ohio, and Tony Zuccaro and his wife, Billie, of Broomfield, Colorado, along with all of their children and grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the many, many doctors, nurses and medical technicians of Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and the surrounding area, who so lovingly took care of Gussie and helped her over the years. Your care and concern for Gussie’s well-being is greatly appreciated.
