Abron “Abe” Long, III, age 61, of Birmingham , AL, departed this life on April 15, 2012. He was a retired Lieutenant at the Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service with 28 years of service and worked for Auto Zone for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Ruth Long and father, Abron Long, Jr. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Betty J. Long; daughters, Alonzanetta Cunningham, Joy (Warren) Long – Minnifield. Antjuan Oden. sisters; Verdis Irvin, Carolyn Giles; brother, Captain Benjamin Garrett; grandchildren, Kayla Cunningham, Keilon Long, Warren Minnifield, Jr., Jada Minnifield; close friend, Daniel “Lil Boy” Moye; nieces, nephew and a host of relatives and friends.
