Abraham Shingler, the son of the late Leroy and Mattie Mae Shingler was born July 12, 1953 in Orangeburg County, SC. He attended and was baptized at Providence Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Holly Hill Public Schools and graduated from OC Technical College in Orangeburg in 1976 and became a certified welder. Abraham, better known Ham, was loved by many. His personality and humility touched the lives of everyone he encountered. His brother, Leroy Shingler Jr. precedes him in death.
To cherish fond memories Abraham leaves behind five sisters, Mattie DR (Clarence) Howell, Susie (Fred) Fuller, Florethea (Herman) Campbell, Catherine (Charles) Fogle, Leatha M. (Wellington) Burell; one brother, Johnny L. (Deirdre) Shingler; one sister-in-law, Rosa Shingler; seven aunts, Rubell (Sammie) Adgerson, Luise Johnson, Vernell (Ervin) Elmonds, Janie Mae Robinson, Francis Shingler, Raniey Lou Montgomery, Della Mae Shaw; one uncle, Cephas (Emma) McKune; one great aunt, Annabelle Damon; tweny-three nieces and nephews, thirty-five great nieces and nephews, three great great nieces and nephews; a close friend Sally Ann Evans; a special cousin, Ervin Elmonds, Jr. and a host of other family and friends.
